This “CONTRACT AGREEMENT” is made this ______ DAY of ____________, 20______, by and between “BREEDER,” “Off the Chain Bloodhounds of Southeast Georgia,” “Our” and “Adoptive Parent(s),” “BUYER,” ”Your,”.
The intent of this Contract Agreement is to address all expectations and responsibilities of both the Breeder and the Adoptive Parent(s). Any questions or concerns shall be addressed, or any revisions made shall be in writing as provided below, at the time of entering into this Contract Agreement. If not addressed prior to this Contract Agreement, item of concern shall be at the sole discretion of the Breeder. Any disputes shall be at Adoptive Parent(s) expense and must first go to Arbitration in Camden County, allowing both parties to resolve their dispute prior to any other legal method of settlement. Breeder has the best interest of the Puppy in all cases and will do everything Breeder can do to accommodate the Adoptive Parents and the Puppy. All deposits are NONREFUNDABLE under any circumstance.
Breeder shall be responsible for the following:
- Maintaining quality care, health, nutrition and providing a safe and loving environment for the parents of your new puppy and after whelped, maintaining the same quality of care for your New Puppy.
- Overseeing the birth, making sure that there are no complications during delivery. Provide support if necessary.
- Provide your puppy with his/her first Veterinary visit through a licensed Veterinarian who will provide a complete health and wellness check-up along with their first round of vaccinations.
- Contact the Adoptive Parents when your puppy has been whelped, advising you of its well-being and allowing you access to visit and bond with your new puppy during his/her initial eight week weaning and health and wellness stay with us.
- Provide information that is applicable to your Puppy, i.e., vet records, registration AKC, etc.
- We guarantee that your puppy is in good health when you take him/her home.
Adoptive Parent(s) shall be responsible for the following:
- Research and ask questions about the Breed, making sure that the Puppy will be a good fit for you, your family, and your home.
- To RESERVE your puppy a DEPOSIT must be paid, and Contract Agreements must be signed. Deposits are NONREFUNDABLE under any condition.
- Your puppy will be available for pickup at the age of eight (8) weeks to insure weaning and health & wellness of your new puppy.
- Have proper health, nutrition, and safety arrangements for your puppy when you bring him/her home.
- Balance is due when you pick up your puppy. He/she must be picked up within five days (5) from the end of the eighth week. Example, if the puppy is whelped and turns 8 weeks on Sunday, pickup must be by or before Friday of that same week, unless other arrangements are made. If not, your puppy will then become a boarded puppy. Boarding beyond the initial 5 days will result in a daily rate of $12.00 per day. If additional costs are incurred while boarding your puppy such as but not limited to vet expense, Adaptive Parent(s) will be responsible for reimbursement to Breeder for these expenses and all balances due at the time of pick-up. If not picked up within ten (10) days of the 8 weeks as described above deadline, your puppy will be subject to be rehomed and your deposit will be forfeited.
- It is necessary for Adoptive Parent(s) to visit your vet, at your expense, within 3 days of purchase for a routine health examination for the Limited Warranty to be valid. Keep a copy of the record as you will be asked to supply this for warranty purposes.
- In the event the Adoptive Parent(s)/ buyer is unable to keep this puppy for any reason, at any time of the dog’s life, ADOPTIVE PARENT(s) is required to give BREEDER the RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSALE.
- If buying a puppy with full registration, the Adoptive Parent(s)/buyer agrees to breed her bitch no sooner than one and a half years old, or no sooner than the bitch’s second heat. If purchasing a male no earlier than 1 year old. Adoptive Parent(s) agrees to take good, reasonable care of all puppies whelped within its lineage, feed, and house properly; and promptly. Give and secure the best attention to the physical welfare of this puppy. Adoptive Parent(s) agrees to continue to keep the puppy current on all vaccinations and heart worm preventative as well as to give proper flea/tick treatments throughout the life of the puppy.
LIMITED THREE-DAY WARRANTY
If this puppy is found to be unhealthy by a licensed veterinarian or has any physical problems that will limit the pup’s quality of life, BREEDER will replace the pup when one becomes available. If you choose a replacement of greater value of the original purchase price of $_________, Adoptive Parent(s)/buyer will be responsible to pay the difference.
YOU MUST TAKE YOUR PUPPY TO THE VET WITHIN 3 DAYS/72 HOURS OF PURCHASE TO MAKE THIS CLAIM VALID! All warranties apply only to the original ADOPTIVE PARENT(S). There are no refunds! ADOPTIVE PARENT(s) understand that the following slight genetic defects are not considered serious, or life threatening and therefore are not covered: umbilical hernia, undescended testicle, under or overbite, or entropion. ADOPTIVE PARENT(S) understands that the replacement option is only valid when health problems are attributed to a hereditary problem and not due to accident or contagious and/or other illnesses. We do not guarantee against coccidiosis, parvo, corona, or giardia after 24 hours of purchase. Death to a puppy within 3 days/72 hours of purchase must have an autopsy at Adoptive Parent(s)/ buyers’ expense to confirm reason for death.
OUR HEALTH GUARANTEE covers any hereditary faults up to 1 year of age. To be covered under our health guarantee for replacement pup:
- You must obtain a written statement from your vet, signed by him/her for our records, stating health risk and to include a description of the symptoms supporting his/her opinion to validate this guarantee.
- The original registration must be returned to us along with the dog.
- The dog must not have whelped or sired a litter.
- Shipping cost, if any, will be the responsibility of the ADOPTIVE PARENT(S).
- We do not replace your puppy with hip and elbow dysplasia as there are too many environmental factors that can contribute to dysplasia.
- This guarantee is only valid if purchased directly from BREEDER, not if bought from someone else.

The Adoptive Parent(s) has read, has full understanding, and is in full agreement of this Contract Agreement for purchase and the terms of sale. Failure to comply with the standards set above in this Contract Agreement will result in breach of contract.
